What is the difference between a natal chart reading and a locational astrology reading?

In a natal chart reading, I’ll look at the chart of your time of birth. We’ll talk about overarching themes in your life, what these planets have represented for you, and what is going on in your life currently.

In a locational astrology reading, I’ll go over your natal chart briefly. For the majority of the reading we’ll be looking at your natal chart over a map of the world. We can talk about potential places to move, vacations, ancestry, and more. This reading will dig into your relationship to the land and space.

What does a session with you look like?

Sessions with me are conversational. I’ll start with going over the logistics of the reading, and then I’ll go through the 7 personal planets in your chart. There’s a lot of space for questions, curiosity, and any emotions that arise during the reading. I will be sharing my screen with your chart visible. You are free to record on your end but I will not be providing a recording.

If you’re signing up for an in person reading, my space is wheelchair accessible, and we’ll both have masks (I can provide one if you need one). Water or tea will be available upon request. I’ll show you your chart on my laptop and can play music in the background. I don’t burn incense since I share space with people who are smell sensitive.

What can I expect astrology to tell me?

In my eyes, planets are guides. They help us understand the context of stories within our lives. They are not arbiters of suffering or luck, but rather walk with us on our journey through life.

Come into the reading with the expectation that we are going to be having a conversation, and that you’re going to have space to talk about what’s going on with your life. We will be looking at the planets for clarity, and alignment to the path you choose to walk. Planets might not clear obstacles, but they can guide you through them.

Do you offer sliding scale?

I am currently fundraising for my health and financial stability. I’m not in a place where I can offer discounted readings. If you’d like to engage with my work but can’t afford a 30 minute reading, I write on Patreon.

Where can I access your past conference presentations?

How long have you been an astrologer?

I pulled up my first natal chart in middle school - and used the stars to roast my classmates. In 2016 I started taking astrological studies more seriously and was reading charts of organizers and activists in New York City. I helped my friends Nova and Ana Maria do full moon gatherings and dance under the stars in Brooklyn.

In 2020 I moved to my Saturn line in North Carolina, made my website, started speaking at conferences, and writing regularly. The pandemic required a shift where I needed to share my work in digital spaces.

What is your astrological lineage?

I was drawn to Corina Dross’s horoscopes on autostraddle, which aligned the stars with radical politics. I took their “Astrology 101 Class” and was opened up to a world of queer astrology.

I’ve taken Sam Reynolds’s Nitty Gritty 2 and Nitty Gritty 3 courses. He’s been deeply influential in my love of ancient astrological techniques. Sam’s classes are a must for any emerging astrologer.

Additionally, I have worked with the Portland Astrology School and I have a certification in the Fixed Stars.

What house system and zodiac do you use? Do you use special software?

I use whole sign houses and I use the tropical zodiac. I will pull up your chart with Chaldean decans and Egyptian terms visible to provide me with the information necessary to read your chart.

I do chart preparation using Solar Fire and Starlight for returning clients, but during readings I will display charts using an online calculator.
